Education
We focus on providing basic education to those who need it most. Our aim is to improve access to education for children living in extreme poverty. We know that the brains of malnourished children are less developed than their well-fed counterparts and that undernourishment affects learning. Read more
Emergencies
Many of the countries where we work are highly vulnerable to emergencies and shocks as a result of conflict and natural disasters. We act quickly to save lives with emergency shelter and food and, once the immediate crisis has passed, we remain on the ground helping to rebuild livelihoods and infrastructure so that communities are better prepared for future emergencies. Health and nutrition
Today, there are an estimated 1.3 billion people living in extreme poverty, most of whom regularly experience health problems. Malnutrition causes illnesses such as diarrhoea, tuberculosis and malaria, HIV and AIDS to worsen. By tackling undernourishment we can improve the health of entire communities. Read more
Livelihoods
We have been supporting the livelihoods of the world’s poorest people for over 30 years. Put simply, “livelihoods” doesn’t just mean a person’s ability to earn a living, it’s about everything that makes an impact on a person’s life. This includes whether they have enough food to sustain themselves. Read more
