Family Survival Pack

What you need when you need it most

A disaster like a drought, earthquake or conflict can leave families desperately vulnerable and without basic items for survival. This gift could provide a family with lifesaving essentials, including jerry cans to store water safely, blankets, sleeping mats, cooking utensils, family clothing, hygiene kits and sheeting to stay warm and dry.

Muragije and Munyabarenzi and their six children fled their village in the Democratic Republic of Congo when fighting broke out. They're now living in a hillside camp, a seven-hour walk from their home. When they arrived at the camp they were given a survival pack from Concern, which included jerry cans, cooking pots and crockery, blankets, clothing and female hygiene products. These packs have been invaluable to the family, and have helped them retain their dignity in the most challenging situation. "I am so happy - this is very important for us," said Munyabarenzi.

This gift goes towards our Emergency programme.
