Six Chickens

Help feed a family for a year!

By shelling out for six chickens you can help feed a family all year round. One chicken can lay up to 200 eggs a year, which provides food and by selling the surplus eggs or by hatching chicks throughout the year, a family can earn money for other necessities.

Donnex Jordan holds a baby chick. Jennifer Nolan/Concern Worldwide

Donnex Jordan loves his little chicks as they will help him grow up strong. His mother, Monica, received livestock and training from Concern. All three of her children go to school thanks to the eggs she sells at the market. Donnex's mother knows the importance of nutrition in growing up healthy and loves that she can now give her children a high protein food to eat. So not only can this gift help pay school fees, but it will give children eggs to eat so they have full tummies when going to class!

This gift goes towards our Livelihoods programme.
